For groups, the Kunsthal offers several types of guided tours: KunstHoppen, Exhibition Tours and the Architecture Tour. You can also join one of our monthly guided tours. Choose your preferred tour below and submit your visit request.

Guided Tour Signac. Symphony of Colours

Available to book from 27 October 2026 to 28 February 2027

Discover an impressive overview of the work of Paul Signac (1863–1935), a master of Neo-Impressionism, at the Kunsthal. Building on the work of Georges Seurat, Signac developed Pointillism in the late nineteenth century: a painting technique in which dots and short brushstrokes come together to create a symphony of colour.

Signac was not only a painter, but also a writer, collector, mentor and an important ambassador for Neo-Impressionism. He maintained close ties with artists across Europe and actively promoted this new approach to painting. The exhibition traces the development of Signac’s work and his influence on other artists. Alongside his own work, you’ll see paintings by his contemporaries, including Théo van Rysselberghe and Jan Toorop.

Explore colourful landscapes, portraits and lively harbour scenes. The Netherlands also inspired Signac: the exhibition includes his painting of the port of Rotterdam as well as a work depicting the windmill at Edam.

ArtHopping

Come ArtHopping at the Kunsthal! There are always several exhibitions on display at the same time, offering variety, contrast and plenty of surprises. During ArtHopping, a guide takes you on a fast-paced tour of different artworks and objects throughout the Kunsthal. Along the way, you’ll discover something new at every turn and see Rem Koolhaas’ distinctive architecture from a different perspective.

In just one hour, you’ll discover a variety of exhibitions as well as the building itself. Book this dynamic tour and explore highlights and hidden gems.

Architecture Tour

Available year-round

Kunsthal Rotterdam is an icon of modern architecture, attracting architecture enthusiasts from all over the world each year. In 1988–1989, world-renowned architect Rem Koolhaas designed the building together with project architect Fuminori Hoshino of the Rotterdam-based architectural firm OMA (Office for Metropolitan Architecture). With its innovative use of materials, strikingly positioned entrance and steep ramps, the design immediately attracted international attention.

During the Architecture Tour, the guide takes you through the building. You’ll discover its different materials, sightlines and spaces, and gain a deeper understanding of the ideas behind the design.

Kunsthal Tours

Drop-in tours, every first Sunday of the month

Every first Sunday of the month, you can join a drop-in tour. Go ArtHopping and discover a variety of exhibitions as well as the Kunsthal building, or take a deeper dive into one of the exhibitions. Explore the programme and book your tour here.

General Information

Request a group tour with a Kunsthal guide at least three weeks in advance using the button for the tour of your choice. Within 10 working days, we will let you know whether the tour is available on your preferred date.

Duration: 60 minutes
Price: €95 per group of up to 15 people

Tours are available in Dutch or English. All prices include VAT. Admission to the Kunsthal is not included.

Tours with your own guide are not permitted at the Kunsthal.
