This year, North Sea Jazz is celebrating its 50th anniversary. On the occasion of this landmark, Kunsthal Rotterdam presents 50 Years North Sea Jazz Photography.

This autumn, the photographer Rob Hornstra and the author Arnold van Bruggen will show how countless migrants have to produce food for European markets.

This summer, visitors to the Kunsthal are invited to discover The Grand Summer Hut, a playful and colourful experience designed by Rotterdam-based graphic artist Teuntje Fleur.

From Saturday 24 October 2026, Kunsthal Rotterdam will be dedicating a large-scale retrospective to Paul Signac (1863–1935).

From Saturday 9 May, work by artist Nick Cave will be on view at the Venice Biennale 2026 (until 22 November).

CBK Rotterdam, the Rotterdam City Archives, and the Kunsthal are searching for the City Artists of 2026. This year, we're focusing on a topic familiar to every Rotterdammer, yet often overlooked: nightlife. What happens when daylight fades and Rotterdam lights up, slows down, or comes alive? Who moves through the streets, which places remain awake, what stories unfold while most of us sleep?

Kunsthal Rotterdam closes 2025 on a strong note with more than 370,000 visitors – its third consecutive top year, marking an increase of 50,000 visitors compared to 2024.

From Saturday 27 September, all visitors to the exhibition Iris van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses at Kunsthal Rotterdam will be able to admire an extraordinary algae creation.
