The Kunsthal brings together different disciplines and worlds. Its programme, full of contrasts, sparks curiosity and leaves room for wonder. Without a collection of its own, the Kunsthal has the freedom to continually make new choices about what to present. From contemporary art and Old Masters to fashion, design and photography, and from major international crowd-pullers and subcultures to hidden collections and emerging talent: every year, the Kunsthal presents dozens of exhibitions alongside a wide-ranging programme of activities. This means there is always something new to discover with every visit.

Constantly evolving

The Kunsthal is constantly evolving. With seven exhibition spaces, a distinctive Auditorium and the Kunsthal Café, there is room for a varied programme of exhibitions, events and activities for visitors of all ages. Through programmes such as Kunsthal LIVE, we bring together artists, makers, partner organisations and diverse audiences. This creates new encounters, unexpected collaborations and room for experimentation.

By collaborating with museums, cultural institutions, artists and social partners in the Netherlands and abroad, the Kunsthal brings exceptional exhibitions and unexpected stories to Rotterdam. Major international names are presented alongside new discoveries and emerging talent. There is room for current issues, personal stories and subjects that resonate with the world today.
