We want to ensure that your visit to the Kunsthal is as enjoyable as possible. On this page, you’ll find practical information about how to get here, accessibility and facilities within the building. This way, you’ll know what to expect in advance and can prepare for your visit properly.
Parking for visitors with reduced mobility
Visitors with reduced mobility can park in the disabled parking spaces on the service road along the Westzeedijk. These are located on the right-hand side of the pavement, just past the Kunsthal underpass. You will need a ‘Disabled Parking Permit’ to use these spaces. View the route to the Kunsthal here.
Entrance and lifts
The Kunsthal entrance is accessible to visitors in wheelchairs. The various floors of the Kunsthal can be reached by lift. Please ask a member of staff at the information desk at the entrance which lift to use.
Wheelchairs
Almost all areas of the Kunsthal are wheelchair accessible. The corridors are wide enough and staff will assist where necessary, for example when accessing HAL 1. The ramp at HAL 6 (the display window) is too steep for wheelchairs and is therefore not accessible.
You can borrow a wheelchair from the Kunsthal. Please book one in advance by calling 010 – 44 00 300 or emailing receptie@kunsthal.nl (available during office hours).
Mobility scooters
Compact mobility scooters, similar in size to an electric wheelchair, are permitted. Larger models do not fit inside the building and there is little space to park them. In that case, you can reserve a wheelchair.
Folding stools
Lightweight folding stools are available for you to take with you during your visit. This means you can sit down for a moment whenever you like. You’ll find them at the entrance to HALL 1 and HALL 2, the large halls.
Assistance dogs
Do you need assistance during your visit? If so, a carer may accompany you free of charge. Book a ticket online in advance and select a free ticket for your carer.
