Inspiringly led by David Bade and Tirzo Martha, a team of artists works together with numerous neighbourhood initiatives, Rotterdam artists, students, neighbourhood residents, entrepreneurs, and social organisations. Regular partners include Reakt, Paulus Church and Laurens care for the elderly. All you can Art demonstrates how art can play a connecting role in society. Especially for people who would not naturally make this connection themselves. The experimental character and attitude that art is able to take its responsibility with regard to people and society form the perfect point of departure for exploring new possibilities.
Summerschool
This year once again the Summer School is an important part of All you can Art. A group of creative talents of all ages and from all kinds of (educational) backgrounds will be given the opportunity to develop their artistic potential for six weeks. All students experiment, discuss and collaborate under the guidance of the artists and debate and collaborate on all the locations and with all the partners.
Musical kick-off
On Sunday 10 July, All you can Art will have its festive kick-off during Kunsthal LIVE ON SUNDAY, the Kunsthal’s free outdoor summer festival. On this day, the entire programme will revolve around Instituto Buena Bista Curaçao and All you can Art, including a musical parade through the city marking the Summer School students’ participation in All you can Art, and a performance. All you can Art goes on!
After many successful summer editions, it is our goal to continue All you can Art in a sustainable way while still focusing on the project’s accessibility, mentality, and flexibility. Art Sleepover, which took place in the autumn of 2021, was a first step towards further expanding the programme. It involved a number of artworks from the collection of the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands participating in ‘sleepovers’ in various Rotterdam households.
From March 2022 the outreach of All you can Art extends beyond Rotterdam. During the project ‘Kunstness’, four All you can Art artists will take turns in visiting various locations of Reakt around the country. Also, In addition, from May onwards, All you can Art will move into the Pauluskerk Rotterdam for six weeks. Several All you can Art artists will be present three days a week to work on an organically growing exhibition together with visitors of the Pauluskerk.
