During Friday Night LIVE, the collaboration between Kunsthal and Dansateliers takes centre stage. Expect an evening of dance, performance, film and music, where you’re invited not just to watch, but to get moving yourself. Based in Rotterdam, Dansateliers is a home for the development of contemporary dance cultures. It creates space for research, experimentation and exchange, while supporting choreographers in developing and further shaping their artistic practice. ashleyho+domeniknaue
The artist duo ashleyho+domeniknaue moves between dance, poetry, sound and visual art. Throughout the Kunsthal, they share fragments of their artistic practice and invite you to contribute something of your own in the KunsthalLAB, through an interactive installation inspired by their work paper tears.
Connor Schumacher - Rave Opener
Choreographer Connor Schumacher, winner of the 2025 Zwaan award for most impressive dance production, believes the world would be a better place if we danced every day. During Rave Opener, he transforms the auditorium into a shared dance floor, inviting everyone to join in and get moving.
Andreas Hannes – Anthology & Skipping Jam
Choreographer Andreas Hannes explores how a simple movement like skipping can grow into an explosion of rhythm, energy and connection. Discover a special festival edition of his performance Anthology (★★★★★ – de Volkskrant) and join in yourself during the Skipping Jam.
Yoko Haveman – A TRIBUTE TO EVERYTHING THAT BREAKS
Choreographer Yoko Haveman presents an off-venue version based on her solo A TRIBUTE TO EVERYTHING THAT BREAKS: a psycho-dystopian cinematic landscape in which a fragmented persona constantly negotiates between control and resistance, drawing on the aesthetics and emotional intensity of neo-noir anime.
Shaquille George – Nos Bida
Shaquille offers a glimpse into the performance Nos Bida (Our Life), which explores identity, memory and community. Through spoken word, rituals and questioning, they open doors to a world in which Black and queer identities take centre stage and ancestors reclaim their voices. Shaquille closes the evening with a DJ set during Friday Night LIVE.
Cinedans – Dance on film
Dance also comes to life on the big screen. Cinedans, the international dance film festival led artistically by choreographer Andreas Hannes, presents a specially curated selection of short dance films in which movement and film meet.
