How do you experience an exhibition when you don’t first try to understand it, but dare to surrender to it? During this sensory introduction, you step out of your head and attune your body to the exhibition Theater Rotterdam: (Sur)render. Through language, movement, breath, sound and scent, you explore what happens when you let go of control for a moment and make space for your surroundings, for others, and for the nature we are part of.

DJ Mixturess

DJ Mixturess will be taking over the Kunsthal Café. She seamlessly blends the soulful vibes of 90s and 2000s hip-hop and R&B with today’s dynamic sounds, creating an unforgettable musical journey. With nearly twenty years in the game, she’s not just a DJ but a pivotal figure in the Dutch music scene, known for electrifying stages from ADE to Mysteryland.

DJ LOVESUPREME

DJ Lovesupreme is a versatile artist. Drawing from his mixtape mindstate, he brings music, stories, past and present together, both on the dance floor and in theatre and dance performances. He has collaborated with, among others, Alida Dors and created soundtracks for a wide range of productions. Through his sets, he creates more than just atmosphere — he creates movement, meaning, and connection.

How can you transfer a live performance to an exhibition space? Taking the successful performance (Sur)render by theatre maker and choreographer Alida Dors as their point of departure, Kunsthal Rotterdam and Theater Rotterdam have joined forces to engage in an extraordinary experiment. The multidisciplinary theatrical production will be translated into an immersive exhibition; you will not only experience the performance’s subject matter as a spectator, but will become part of it yourself.
