In the design gallery Kunsthal Rotterdam shows a collection of some fifty, original pedal cars from the thirties, forties and fifties. The antique toy cars belong to the collection of Rop Ranzijn (1949) and are put on display for the very first time.

On the spur of the moment, Ranzijn bought himself quite a collection of old pedal cars in the beginning of 2009. Within a few moths he managed to restore these cars and brought out their original splendour again. The vast majority of this special collection comes from a collection originally belonging to ex-football pro Marc Overmars, who brought these cars along from places all over the world.  Amongst the objects exhibited there is a Jaguar E-type, a white Rolls Royce, a tough, camouflage print army jeep, a Citroën DX Cabriolet,  some red Ferraris and a red fire-engine.
