In collaboration with the Willem de Kooning Academy, every year, the Kunsthal Rotterdam presents a series of masterclasses – exclusively for students and Kunsthal Friends – by exceptional artists. After the inspiring masterclasses by such figures as photographer Peter Lindbergh, photographer and artist Erwin Olaf, choreographer Conny Janssen, the famous architect Rem Koolhaas and the artists Melanie Bonajo and Michael Kvium, on Thursday 13 September it is the turn of Dutch fashion duo Viktor&Rolf!
For the past 25 years the symbiotic collaboration between Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren has led to works of uncompromising beauty and extraordinary collections. Throughout their illustrious career, Viktor&Rolf have carved a contradictory identity that pushes the boundaries between art and fashion, often contrasting romance and rebellion, exuberance and control, classicism and conceptualism. On the occasion of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Dutch luxury fashion house Viktor&Rolf, the exhibition Viktor&Rolf: Fashion Artists 25 Years presents the most impressive works of the opinionated Dutch fashion duo. During the Masterclass, Viktor&Rolf will focus on their motives and work. They will also discuss some selected portfolio of students. The official language of the Masterclass is English.
