During Kunsthal LIVE ON SUNDAY you can enjoy live music, DJs, food and art & design four Sundays in a row. On Sunday 24 July the day revolves around sultry salsa, in collaboration with Maite Hontelé. Expect a dose of upbeat salsa with music from Duo Cafune and Choco y sus Complices. DJ Git Hyper will also be there to warm you up for these performances.
The Program
This Sunday we''ll kick off with the vinyl records of DJ Git Hyper. Loosen up the hips for the musical program of the day. Duo Cafuné starts the day with atmospheric tunes, after which the international all-star salsa band Choco y sus Cómplices will get the whole Museumpark dancing. If you can't get enough, stay for DJ Willy's set! Besides the music, enjoy free boarding tours and dance along with the dancers of Salsability. You can also get your creative juices flowing and start working with artist Camille from All you can Art. Or just laze around in the grass with an ice cream. Come, enjoy and participate!
Choco y sus Complices
The Cuban band Choco y sus Cómplices is irresistible! The sixteen-piece band is based on the traditional line-up of Charanga orchestras (violin, cello and flute), but is complemented by four talented singers and a full horn section with drums. Expect a versatile selection of rhythms and melodies that will make it impossible to stay still. This band will excite all your senses!
Duo Cafuné
This duo is formed by Femke Smit and Daniel de Moraes. With their Brazilian Bossa Nova, MPB and samba repertoire they bring warmth and take you along the different beautiful styles Brazil has to offer. Femke Smit was born in the Netherlands but sings Brazilian music with passion. Daniel plays the guitar and together they bring the music to life. This combination makes you understand every word and sound, even if you don't speak the Portuguese language. Discover the playfulness of their music during Kunsthal LIVE ON SUNDAY!
DJ GIT HYPER
Kunsthal resident DJ Git Hyper will also be on hand this Sunday, and as usual bringing his best records with him. For years he has been spinning vinyl with the tastiest soul, funk and hip hop at the Kunsthal. This Sunday he will make sure that the feet get off the floor with nice salsa and latin sounds. Behind the decks, DJ Git Hyper is guaranteed to deliver the best tunes, so you'll definitely be dancing!
DJ Willy
DJ Willy, with his first performances in 1980, has been behind the turntable for many years. Currently, DJ Willy is a favorite DJ at most major salsa events throughout Europe. He has also played at a number of international salsa conventions outside of Europe. So he should not be missing on this Sunday!

Het muziekprogramma van aanstekelijke salsa en latin wordt verzorgd en gehost door de Nederlandse trompetist Maite Hontelé. Al vanaf jongs af aan opgegroeid met son en salsa is ze hierin later gespecialiseerd. Na een succesvolle carrieré als muzikant en ambassadeur van Latin music in Colombia, Zuid-Amerika en Nederland, werkt zij momenteel als artistiek en muzikaal programmeur. Verwacht swingende muziek, aanstekelijke salsa en de positieve energie van Maite!

ALL YOU CAN ART
During LIVE ON SUNDAY, you'll get to work with the artists of All you can Art. Artist Camille de Bruin will work with you on her art installation 'nest'. This is a collective project where you work together to make an ever bigger work of art out of cushions and rugs. Come and help build! And of course you can also bring out the artist in you in the open studio at the Kunsthal.
