Keith Haring Weekend

In connection with the exhibition ‘Keith Haring. The Political Line', the Kunsthal is organising a lively weekend full of Eighties Revival.

The press and public have given the Keith Haring exhibition a very enthusiastic reception. This weekend the Kunsthal offers a supplementary programme with guided tours, lectures, workshops, music, street art, dance and Eighties fun. Sunday 11 October is Kunsthal Family Day with activities for the whole family! Of course that is not the only exhibition in the Kunsthal.

Saturday 10 October

Movie  

  • ‘The Universe of Keith Haring'. Documentary by Christina Clausen.

Workshops

  • BURO NO!  Work with the artists of OPPERCLAES on your own protest poster with BURO NO!

  • Make your own Tote-bag*. 
    Come and make your own linen bag with street artists Vinze and LuckyDubz.

Lectures

  • The bleak Eighties. 
    Parallels between then and now, by philosopher Dr Gijs van Oenen.

Community Art Project

  • “Art is for Everyone” - Keith Haring. 
    Join in and put your brush and paint to a big community artwork in the spirit of Keith Haring! This weekend the winning Art Challenge design by Mark Dolk will be completed by the public.

  • Drawing battle. Street artists Vinze en LuckyDubz show their skills on ‘metro signs’.
    Around 3 – 3.30 pm

The activities are free of charge upon display of a Kunsthal admission ticket. The Museumkaart and Rotterdampas apply! No prior reservations for the activities can be made. You can register for workshops and guided tours in the Kunsthal on the day itself.
