Discover the hidden traces of colonialism and slavery in the interiors of eighteenth-century Rotterdam's elite at the Schielandshuis, combined with a visit to the Kunsthal. Experience this tour, provided by Museum Rotterdam curators, exclusively for Kunsthal visitors.

What?

Guided tours in the Schielandshuis and an independent visit to the total installation Acknowledge Rebuild in the Kunsthal. The tour is in Dutch.

Where?

The tour starts at the Schielandshuis, Korte Hoogstraat 31, Rotterdam. We ask you to be present 10 minutes before the tour so that it can start on time. With your ticket you can also visit the exhibition Acknowledge Rebuild in the Kunsthal on the same day. You will visit the exhibition on your own.

Tours start at 12:00, 13:00 and 14:30. The tour of the Schielandshuis takes approximately 45 minutes.

Cost?

21,50 euro. This includes both the tour of the Schielandshuis and entrance to the Kunsthal. Kunsthal Friends, Museumkaart, Rotterdampas and ICOM members pay 5 euro.

Acknowledge Rebuild

In collaboration with Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Kunsthal Rotterdam presents Acknowledge Rebuild – Wunderkammers of Rotterdam’s Colonial Past. This ‘total installation’ curated by the artist patricia kaersenhout on the occasion of the Slavery Memorial Year, will feature work by emerging artists. Read more about the exhibition here.
