For Friday Night LIVE, the Kunsthal will hand over the keys and offer a platform to a Rotterdam partner active in the fields of film, spoken word, dance, music, fashion, and theatre. During Friday Night LIVE, the tastiest bites and cocktails from Williams Cocktails are back on the menu. And are you coming to the Kunsthal with your Friday Night LIVE ticket between 17:00 and 19:00 hrs? Then a complimentary welcome drink (wine, beer, or soda) will be waiting for you. 

Vieze Meisje

Vieze Meisje is pop, performance, humor and rave all in one act. The duo consists of performer-singer Maya Mertens and composer Alan van Rompuy (a z e r t y Klavierwerke), who is responsible for the most acrobatic beats. Together they provide dazzling live shows that will boost you faster than an energy drink. "Life is a vieze cirkel".

LIONSTORM

LIONSTORM is the Netherlands’ first explicitly queer music duo consisting of Ski and Stars. They have their own signature aggressive clownesque style and make music based in the horrorcore, reggaeton and industrial metal genres. Their work mostly revolves around queerness, female sexuality and breaking taboos. Think of them as the lesbian love child of Tommy Cash and Death Grips. Last year they packed out their first tour, finding out just how many super fans they had, proven by the drawer full of underwear that was thrown at them. Their sexy raw style is unique and reflects in their lyrics, performances, music videos, and merchandise which they all release under the same label. They’ve collaborated with icons such as Quay Dash, MEROL and Grove.

Stevie

Rotterdam local Stevie plays high energy tunes alternating with the deep and low. She hosts a monthly radio show on Operator Radio, where she dives deep into her musical obsessions and engages in insightful discussions with fellow music aficionados.

DEY.REY B2B OG KARIN

OG Karin en Dey.Rey are both Weelde residents. OG Karin unites sounds from different genres and finds commonality in rhythmic, percussive-led tracks with raw sounds, infused with some groove and sensuality. During her sets she weaves between intensity and patience, keeping the dancefloor on edge with tranquil interludes and experimental diversions, whilst maintaining the dancefloor drive. Dey.Rey is always there to bring some sexy energy to every event. Dey.Rey’s versatile music style is influenced by a mix of genres such as Drum & Bass, Baile Funk, Jersey Club, Ghetto House, Techno and more! Together they will spin b2b for the first time during Friday Night LIVE!

Katie

Kate Takada - AKA Katie - has never been far from water in motion. Born near the Edogawa River in Tokyo, she is now making waves just inland from the North Sea. It is perhaps no surprise then, that a certain fluidity characterises the musical world offered up by seeing and hearing Katie in action. Whether easing listeners through floaty morning-show material on the radio, or traversing different shades of dancefloor-ready cuts in the club, a Katie set flows like water: moods and grooves mixed with precision and propulsion, and an energy that constantly take us to the cusp of something new.

Weelde 

Weelde was an utopian free state for and by creatives, uninhibited bon vivants and free spirits. Located in the M4H area of Rotterdam, you could enjoy its catering (both breakfast, lunch and dinner), events, parties and lush grounds. After five years, founders Kim & Kelly pulled the plug on Weelde's then form due to the uncertainty and temporality of doing business. Today, Weelde positions itself as a brand with events at various venues and organises its own annual festival, Weelde Festival.
