The Rotterdam-based online hip hop platform Hiphop In Je Smoel (HIJS) is celebrating its 25th anniversary and invites everyone to join in the celebration of hip hop culture at the Kunsthal. For a quarter of a century, HIJS has been a dynamic platform focused on the current state of Dutch hip hop culture. Over the years, HIJS has taken on many forms: from a hip hop book publisher and party organizer to a spoken word platform, street art curator, production house, and educator. This versatility forms the foundation for Friday Night LIVE x Hiphop In Je Smoel!

BITES & DRINKS

During Friday Night LIVE, the tastiest bites are back on the menu, or you can order your favourite cocktail at de Cocktailfiets (Cocktail Bicycle)! And are you coming to the Kunsthal with your Friday Night LIVE ticket between 17:00 and 19:00 hrs? Then a complimentary welcome drink (wine, beer, or soda) will be waiting for you!

Hiphop In Je Smoel

Since 1999, Hiphop in je Smoel (HIJS) has been the go-to platform for hip hop culture enthusiasts. What began as an initiative by passionate hip hop fans has grown into a leading platform closely following both the national and international hip hop scene. Over the past 25 years, HIJS has become one of the key players in the Dutch hip hop landscape, with its core being the website Hiphop in je Smoel. HIJS is a multimedia hip hop platform dedicated to connecting hip hop lovers in various ways and sharing knowledge about hip hop culture. In addition to showcasing and supporting artists, HIJS also provides talented journalists, photographers, and videographers the opportunity to develop their skills. Since 2001, HIJS has been organizing a range of events to further enrich the hip hop community.

Thomas J Price. Matter of Place

The exhibition Matter of Place presents an impressive overview of the British artist Thomas J. Price (1981, London). With his subtle yet powerful works across various media, including sculpture, performance, photography, and animation, Price continuously pushes the boundaries of material, scale, and presentation. His work focuses on themes such as representation, identity, and the influence of power in society.
