Find out how to make a 3D image, observe objects at very close quarters and draw objects yourself with different materials. On Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 November you can join in various workshops connected with the exhibition ‘Objectivity. The Art of Useful Things’. The exhibition presents 140 objects from the David Usborne collection and is a genuine cabinet of curiosities. Most of these objects symbolise a useful function from the past, leaving you wondering what that function might have been.
The various workshops are given by the curator of the University of the Arts, London, and her team. The Saturday workshops are for adults. Space is limited, so don’t delay in making your reservation. Sunday is Kunsthal FAMILY day, when children and families can join in various non-stop workshops without prior booking. Admission is free upon presentation of a valid Kunsthal admission ticket.
PHOTOGRAMMETRY WORKSHOP
Always wondered how you make a 3D image? Then register for the Photogrammetry workshop. Use your phone or tablet to photograph an object from the Objectivity exhibition and then turn your digital photos into a real 3D image. Don’t forget to bring your tablet or phone along. You can already download the app:
• Scann 3D (Android)
• TRNIO (IOS)
OBJECT HANDLING WORKSHOP
This is your chance to handle objects. Learn how to observe and discover objects properly. Usually it’s not allowed to touch the works, but this time you are actually encouraged to do just that – of course, you must wear gloves. You can already put your questions to the curator of the David Usborne collection during the workshop.

Take your inspiration from the objects in the David Usborne collection and learn how to draw objects using various drawing styles and materials.
