Tim Walker: Wonderful Things

The exhibition Wonderful Things celebrates the fantastical imagination of Tim Walker: one of the world’s most inventive fashion photographers. Spectacularly executed sets guide the visitors to the enchanted worlds of his photographs. Blurring the lines between fantasy and reality, he creates images that can be surreal, poetic, humorous, and touching. With his enchanted stories, Walker aims to embrace diversity and celebrate beauty in all its forms. Tilda Swinton, Grace Jones, Grayson Perry, as well as many other muses and models, feature in this largest-ever exhibition about Tim Walker – with over 150 new works inspired by the eclectic collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London. Staying power. Hiphophuis invites Lakwena

In collaboration with hiphophuis, Kunsthal Rotterdam is presenting the exhibition ‘Staying Power. Hiphophuis invites Lakwena’. Following earlier collaborations – including the successful exhibition ‘Street Dreams’ –, these two Rotterdam-based cultural tastemakers will now reconnect on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the hiphophuis and the thirtieth anniversary of the Kunsthal. The artist Lakwena Maciver (1986, United Kingdom) has been invited to create new work as part of her series Jump Paintings. From this autumn, this entire series of portraits – inspired by world-famous basketball players – will be shown in the Kunsthal’s HALL 3. Read more.
