Rotterdam is becoming more and more popular as a tourist destination. The number of visitors is continuously increasing. In 2014 Rough Guides and New York Times included Rotterdam in their lists of ‘must see’ cities. Now Lonely Planet has named Rotterdam one of the top cities in the world for travellers according to Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2016.
Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel is the highly anticipated collection of the world’s hottest trends, destinations and experiences for the year ahead. Its contributor, Tom Hall, says, “Rotterdam is bursting with modern, post-modern and contemporary construction and offers a veritable array of art, top-class restaurants and atmospheric nightlife, making it one of Lonely Planet’s must-see destinations for 2016.” Lonely Planet names the Kunsthal as one of the top things to do in Rotterdam.
