Marianne Splint New director

Effective 14 February 2022, Kunsthal Rotterdam’s supervisory board will appoint Marianne Splint as director. She will be responsible for the institute’s strategic and artistic course and will closely collaborate with business director Herman van Karnebeek, who is responsible for commercial operations.

Since 2012, Marianne Splint (1982) has been director of Museum Helmond, which consists of Helmond Castle and Kunsthal Helmond. There Splint realised significant growth – not only in an organisational and financial sense, but also regarding public outreach –, and under her leadership this municipal museum was able to evolve into a more independent and distinctive institute situated at the heart of society. With a background in visual art, art history and general cultural studies, Splint has also been a board member of the trade association Museumvereniging (Museum Association) since 2018.
