ROTTERDAM CULTURAL ORGANISATIONS SIGN DIVERSITY CHARTER
Sept. 28, 2021
The organisations that are part of the Rotterdamse Culturele Basis (RCB, Rotterdam Cultural Basis) intend to actively commit themselves to realising more diversity and inclusion in the workplace. For this reason they will be signing the Diversity Charter on Diversity Day, 5 October 2021. The RCB consists of: De Doelen, Luxor Theatre, Maritime Museum Rotterdam, Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Rotterdam Theatre, Zuidplein Theatre , and Kunsthal Rotterdam.
The signing of the charter will take place at the Maritime Museum Rotterdam during an afternoon programme where the organisations will further explain their plans with regard to diversity and inclusion. Said Kasmi, Rotterdam alderman for Education, Culture and Tourism, will also be attending the event. After signing, all parties will start to work with a plan of action. By signing the charter, the RCB organisations are taking their joint responsibility for a diverse cultural sector in Rotterdam.
Employers who sign the Diversity Charter are committed to more diversity and inclusion in the workplace. The charter encourages organisations to define a concrete challenge with regard to diversity and inclusion. This may be related to labour capacity and cultural diversity, or to gender, age, or LGBTQIA+. To date, over 300 Dutch companies have already signed the Diversity Charter
