Sunshine State premiere postponed

International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) and Kunsthal Rotterdam present Sunshine State, an installation by filmmaker and artist Steve McQueen. The premiere of the installation, which was scheduled for Thursday 27 January 2022, has been postponed due to circumstances surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic. The new date will be determined.

McQueen has previously won an Oscar and the Turner Prize and is known for his powerful vision.

Steve McQueen's installation Sunshine State is part of the art program Art Directions, through which IFFR invites visitors to experience genre-crossing works. McQueen's previous installation, Year 3, was commissioned by Tate Britain in 2019. Tate Modern hosted a major retrospective of his work in 2020.
