Nationale-Nederlanden new main partner Kunsthal Rotterdam
Jan. 15, 2025
Nationale-Nederlanden (NN) and Kunsthal Rotterdam have already been collaborating since 2016, and we are proud to announce that this successful partnership is extended. As of 2025, NN will be the Kunsthal’s main partner for a period of two years. Together, NN and the Kunsthal are dedicated to introducing more people to art and culture.
Intensifying the collaboration with the Kunsthal is completely in line with NN’s ambition to make a positive contribution to (mental) wellbeing in society. “Research has shown that the enjoyment of art and culture positively impacts our mental wellbeing. Art tells stories, inspires, and connects,” Mariëlle Krouwel, Chief Marketing Officer of NN Group says. “Our support will help the Kunsthal realise a programme that allows a wide range of people to discover the power of art. The Kunsthal is one of the most visitor-friendly cultural institutions in the Netherlands, and is able to combine a high-quality programme with a low-threshold approach. We are therefore excited to further expand our collaboration with the Kunsthal over the coming years.”
Making a difference together
“NN has already been a dedicated ambassador of the Kunsthal for years. We are therefore extremely happy that they are now committing themselves to becoming our main partner,” Kunsthal director Marianne Splint says. “In this day and age it is more important than ever to have partners who support our mission so we can make a difference together. The Kunsthal is committed to making the experience of art and culture accessible to everyone by offering a constantly surprising and appealing programme. Together with NN, this year we are continuing our efforts to connect people with both art and each other.”
NN Art Award
Part of this main sponsorship is the presentation of the NN Art Award at the Kunsthal on Friday 28 March 2025. This award is annually presented to a talented artist who was trained in the Netherlands and is presenting their work during the Art Rotterdam art fair (28 - 30 March, Rotterdam Ahoy). Authenticity and innovation are key criteria for this annual incentive award. An exhibition featuring work by the four nominees will take place at Kunsthal Rotterdam from 15 March up to and including 11 May.

About Kunsthal Rotterdam
Kunsthal Rotterdam is one of the leading cultural institutes in the Netherlands, situated in the Museumpark in Rotterdam. As the Kunsthal has no collection of its own, it has great freedom in composing its programme and presentations. With over twenty exhibitions, as well as numerous events each year, the Kunsthal presents a dynamic, high-contrast, and always surprising programme in and around its iconic building designed by Rem Koolhaas. The Kunsthal is constantly reinventing itself and realising crossovers between various (art) disciplines and cultures. As a result, the Kunsthal is able to engage an extremely wide and diverse audience.
