New member of Kunsthal supervisory board appointed
Dec. 1, 2018
We are very pleased to announce that as of 1 December 2018, the Municipal Executive Committee of Rotterdam has appointed a new member of the Kunsthal Rotterdam’s supervisory board.
Ms B. Sabourian, LLM (42) is an expert, all-round lawyer with considerable experience in strategic decision-making and legal analysis in processes that are complex and politically sensitive. Baharak Sabourian started her career as a solicitor, working for renowned legal firms such as Allen & Overy LLP. She subsequently continued her career at the Ministry of Finance, where she focused on topical issues such as the financial sector’s reward structure, the Dutch corporate governance code and questions relating to European financial law. Since 2018, Sabourian has been working as General Counsel for Nedspice, an internationally operating, Rotterdam-based spice company.
Mr. Schakenbos, chairman of the supervisory board: “I am looking forward to working with Baharak Sabourian so we can collaborate with the management and the team to realise the ambitions of the Kunsthal. Her sound legal knowledge, all-round expertise and her young, fresh outlook, make her a worthy successor to Mr P.J.M. Drion, who stepped down from the board after eight years.”
Record year for the Kunsthal

The Kunsthal is accessible to everyone and promotes this in its varied programme of exhibitions and activities. For years, the Kunsthal has been positioning itself as one of the most visitor-friendly museums for literally all target groups. We are proud that the Kunsthal’s mission this year has led to such a resounding result, thanks to successful exhibitions and events such as Kunsthal LIVE and All you can Art, for which the Kunsthal received the &Award.
