Before the Covid-19 measures led to all cultural institutions temporarily closing their doors from Friday 13 March, Kunsthal Rotterdam appeared to be on course for another record year. During the first 2.5 months of the year we had already welcomed 79,000 visitors. Now, exactly nine months later, the Kunsthal is again closed for the public, giving us time to draw up the balance sheet of an extraordinary year.

A Different Vision on Fashion Photography’, which had its world premiere in Rotterdam and is now showing at the Kunsthalle Munich.

IBB was recently the recepient of the 2016 Culture Prize awarded by the Prince Bernhard Culture Fund Caribbean Region. IBB received this price for it’s works and achievements in the fields of art education and social engagement the last 10 years. During the presentation IBB students did an art performance called ‘Playa Buena Bista’ outside of our gallery Esmeralda. There were also performances by other beneficiaries of PBCF during the ceremony.
